Melania Toma (b. 1996, Padova, Italy) is a multidisciplinary artist based in London whose work navigates the collapse of binaries: human and non-human, organic and synthetic, myth and matter. Through material experimentation and symbolic motifs, she constructs worlds of entangled transformation in response to the ecological and spiritual crises of the Anthropocene.

Rooted in sculpture, textile, and painting, Toma’s work develops a symbolic visual language composed of fertility icons, birds, fish, and florals—atavistic forms that oscillate between the cellular and the cosmic. Her paintings often mutate into hybrid organisms, pulsating with ambiguous fertility and animated by the rhythm of organs, bones, and discarded matter.
